SCHOOL CHOICE APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED: Parents and guardians may submit their Phase III application online at browardschools.com/schoolchoice for magnet programs and school reassignments at schools that have available seats. The application window will be the last opportunity to apply for before the 2022/23 school year, which begins on Tuesday, Aug. 16. MIAMI 4 SOCIAL CHANGE YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL: Featuring Fab 5 Freddy, American filmmaker, hip hop pioneer and original host of Yo! STAGED READING OF “SEEKING”: The new play by Art Prevails Project founder Darius Daughtry, one of South Florida’s best-known poets, authors, directors and educators, takes the stage in the Abdo New River Room at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, July 23 at 4 and 8 pm and Sunday, July 24 at 6 pm “Seeking” follows a young musician’s quest for independence as he discovers that finding his future hinges on his family’s past.
