It’s goalless at the break, after an absorbing 45 minutes. Both sides hit the woodwork – Virgil van Dijk’s header flicking off the top of the bar and Pierre-Emile Hobjerg then seeing his shot from distance rattle off the post.
Both Liverpool and Tottenham are hunting for victory as they look to achieve their respective goals during a busy top-flight run-in.
Another win for the Reds on Merseyside would see them leapfrog Manchester City once again by two points at the summit, piling the pressure on Pep Guardiola and Co ahead of their meeting with Newcastle tomorrow.
Liverpool have lost only one of their last 18 matches against Tottenham, who ended a run of seven straight losses against them in a 2-2 draw in December and have not triumphed on this ground since 2011.
But Antonio Conte’s Spurs will be desperate to end that hoodoo this evening and go above Arsenal in the fierce battle for fourth place, with their resurgent north London rivals hosting struggling Leeds at the Emirates on Sunday.

64 mins: Corners coming thick and fast for Liverpool, this time Romero putting a cross from Henderson behind.
Falls for Diaz… wonderful block from Davies. And now Romero hacks it away. Defending for their lives back there.
Changes for Liverpool – Robertson and Henderson off, Tsimikas and Jota on.
62 mins: Spurs taking their time over everything now, a throw-in is now at least a 30 second event. Anfield crowd not impressed.
Visitors won’t care one bit – their game-plan is coming off perfectly.
59 mins: NEARLY TWO!
Spurs are getting more and more space on the counter. Royal is in behind on the right, cross has too much on it.
Sessegnon makes something of it though, pulling it back to Son and it just bounces off him and behind. Seconds later, Kulusevski fires a shot straight at Alisson.

Kane and Son were unsurprisingly at the heart of Spurs’ goal but full credit for the part played by wing-backs Emerson and Sessegnon.
They often feel like weak links in this team but both are having very good games.
GOAL! Liverpool 0-1 Tottenham | Heung-min Son 56′
WHAT A STUNNING GOAL THAT IS!
Spurs take the lead and it’s a brilliant team move. Royal sends a long ball forward, Kane brings it down superbly and it opens up perfectly for him.
Slides it wide to Sessegnon in the box, he squares it perfectly for Son and it’s a simple finish.
56 mins: Good spell this for Tottenham, they win another corner as Alexander-Arnold blocks the cross.
Son to swing this one in, in front of the Spurs fans. They aren’t particularly thrilled with that… straight at Thiago who can clear at the near post.
54 mins: Chance for Spurs to break as Son picks the ball up in space.
Fabinho fails in his attempts to trip him up, on Son goes into the box… shot blocked. Kane wanted it played into him.
53 mins: Good work from Royal out wide and he wins a corner for Spurs. Up come the centre-backs.
In towards Kane, headed out to the edge of the area. Sessegnon cushions it back in, Spurs players are all offside though so they leave it.
Liverpool quickly on the attack, Davies hauls Salah down and he does earn a yellow card.
52 mins: Fabinho comes in from behind on Kane, another poor challenge. Bentancur breaks away, but the referee has already blown for the foul.
“That’s his third foul,” Kane tells Michael Oliver. May have left a few words out that Kane included….
50 mins: That’s much better – glorious pass from Thiago out to Henderson on the right.
Plays it back across goal, comes back to Alexander-Arnold who drills it in low… corner. Once again, Tottenham up to the task from set-pieces.
